What is objecttheatre?

Objecttheatre is theatre in which things and materials are the main actors.

Bauhaus artists like Schlemmer or Klee developed an early form of objecttheatre. But recently a new development occured. Objecttheatre now stands for an artform in which different elements from all kind of disciplines can freely be mixed. Various companies now experiment with new styles.  The same idiom of images is used in TV, film, and advertisement.
The image language is one of the fastest developing and richest languages of this moment.

On the photopages and the different pages about our various artistic activities (see overview) you can see how TAMTAM has a very personal interpretation of objecttheatre. The object of their quitte enormous collection are mostly found on fleemarkets, rubbishdumps or grannies attics. They form the basic inspiration for new theatre- or art-projects. The images, materials, light, sound and sometimes video or miniature special effects and ingenious sets are all made in the TAMTAM workshop. The combination of these elements creates a new style of visual performances. Theatre with a way of producing more usual in plastic arts. Theatre with much te see and only little words. Theatre to itch the senses and phantasy with all possible means.
